Field trip to the Northshore - a plantstravaganza
A couple weeks ago I received a call from a nice lady whose brother-in-law has a greenhouse full of tropical plants on his property. "We have to get rid of some of these," she said, asking me to please come up, take a look and take some plants back to New Orleans.
I'd no idea what to expect. But I was curious. So I went. And the fieldtrip was indeed worth the nearly two-hour drive: there were decades' worth of bromeliads, cacti and tillandsias filling up this greenhouse, to the point that it was hard to walk through it. This place is Heaven for plant hoarders.
