Before & After: Annette Street, New Orleans, March/October 2017

The Seventh Ward of New Orleans is a densely populated, historic neighborhood just a few blocks from the French Quarter and Tremé. Houses are typically positioned close together, which for this client, meant that bamboo privacy screening was a priority.

Ninth Ward Nursery provided that, using seven-gallon pots of Seabreeze bamboo (bambusa malingensis) planted approximately 3' apart. Initial planting of this took place in March and took less than two days to complete. We used 20 plants to cover a 60'-long fenceline, and the result, just eight months later, is pretty remarkable.
